Nitrogen transformation during fermentation in agricultural biogas plants

چکیده

Abstract The aim of the present study was to determine changes in organic nitrogen fraction liquid digestate during laboratory tests mono- and co-digestion. Three agricultural wastes were tested: distillery residue, cattle slurry corn silage. In mono-fermentation tests, initial total concentration depended on feedstock used. As a result hydrolysis ammonification matter contained feedstocks, there an increase ammonium after 28 days fermentation. Analysis fractions showed that different predominated each feedstocks. Four co-digestion performed with 20% 80% inoculum content combination feedstocks used mono-fermentation. Proper evaluation transformation forms for 20 participation required calculation concentrations from mass balance, taking into account effect place itself (control test). For these are similar those found tests. A greater test than (for same feedstock). An removal efficiency dissolved (DON), colloidal (CON) particulate (PON) observed. trend change inoculum.

Polyphasic analyses of methanogenic archaeal communities in agricultural biogas plants.

Knowledge of the microbial consortia participating in the generation of biogas, especially in methane formation, is still limited. To overcome this limitation, the methanogenic archaeal communities in six full-scale biogas plants supplied with different liquid manures and renewable raw materials as substrates were analyzed by a polyphasic approach. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was ...

Analysis of propionate‐degrading consortia from agricultural biogas plants

In order to investigate the propionate-degrading community of agricultural biogas plants, four propionate-degrading consortia (Ap1a, N12, G12, and Wp2a) were established from different biogas plants which were fed with renewable resources. The consortia were cultivated in a batch for a period of 2-4 years and then analyzed in an 8-week batch experiment for microbial succession during propionate...

Comparative metagenomics of biogas-producing microbial communities from production-scale biogas plants operating under wet or dry fermentation conditions

BACKGROUND Decomposition of biomass for biogas production can be practiced under wet and dry fermentation conditions. In contrast to the dry fermentation technology, wet fermentation is characterized by a high liquid content and a relatively low total solid content. In this study, the composition and functional potential of a biogas-producing microbial community in an agricultural biogas reacto...

Farm-scale Biogas Plants

In Germany there are about fifteen years of experience in the planning and construction of farm-scale biogas plants. In the meantime, approximately 1,600 biogas plants are in operation on farms. This is primarily due to investment funding and payment for each kWh delivered to the public energy grid. In general, three different kinds of digester types are in use for anaerobically treating manure...
